Foreword

Why we don't want a nation

Nations are the foundation of nationalism. They create borders, they create divisions between people. They have armies, they fight against each other and hate each other, not because there would be fundamental differences between the people of different nations, but just because of some superficial reasons which are often systemic. We don't need hate to survive.

Why we want a nation

The world right now is composed of nations. Every single plot of land belongs to a certain nation, one way or the other, that's simply a political reality. If we want to create better inhabitable systems, we need to rebuilt a lot. This always means picking out the best parts for each system.

The "nation" in its current form is a problem child and always will be. So to be clear again: "The Nation for All" critically evaluates everything that makes up a nation. This includes how property and land ownership works, how money works, how political decisions are made and how taxes are distributed, how children are educated, how trade happens etc. "The Nation for All" is, by definition, global and hyperlocal at the same time.

Constitution

§ 1 Citizenship and Area

(1) The Nation for All is a sovereign state consisting of humans who live in it ("citizens").

(2) Its area is constituted by the plots of land which its citizens own,.

(3) Citizenship is acquired by writing "I, [name], hereby declare to be a citizen of the Nation for All." on a physical piece of paper and signing it. Centralized registers of citizens are not kept.

(4) Citizenship can be revoked by burning this piece of paper.

(5) A plot of land becomes part of the Nation for all by writing "We, [names], hereby declare that the following plots of land are part of the Nation for All." on a physical piece of paper and letting all its owners, according to the land register in their respective jurisdiction (e.g. the "Grundbuch" in Germany), sign it.

(6) Citizenship in other nations in parallel is possible and plots of land can also belong to another nation in parallel.

§ 2 Currency

(1) A new currency is created, measured in Special Drawing Rights (XDR).

(2) Colloquially, units of this currency are known as "memories of a euro", "memories of a dollar", etc.

(3) To create units of this currency, its equivalent in paper cash money, issued by the central bank of another nation, must be physically burnt, and the identification numbers of these bank notes must be safely recorded.

(4) The key economic indicator is the velocity of units of this currency, which is to be maximized.

§ 3 Taxes

(1) Every month, 1% of the value of all currency units in circulation is transferred to a globally unique account ("taxes").

(2) The currency units from this account reenters the economy through participatory budgeting.

(3) In these participatory budgeting processes, each citizen gets an identical share of taxes they can distribute.

§ 4 Trade

(1) A trade union is formed between all plots of land that belong to the Nation for all. Its purpose is to provide a unified, federated platform to facilitate trade as well as real logistical infrastructure to create fully autonomous supply chains.

(2) All trade is conducted using the currency units defined in § 2.

§ 5 Technology

(1) A single, fully decentralized, peer-to-peer network is established, operating as a federation of autonomous systems, similar to the internet.

(2) For each existing operating system, a client to access this network is developed. Every client has the exact same functionality,

(3) All software is developed open source and is licensed under the GNU General Public License.

§ 6 Behavior towards existing governments

(1) Citizens assemble in newly formed political parties that allow them to acquire political power in the nations their plots of land were part of before, according to the process legally accepted in that nation (typically democratically).

(2) As long as political power has not yet been acquired in another nation, the existing legal violence monopoly from police or military is respected.

§ 7 Children

(1) Education of children is to be conducted in a way which allows every child to develop their potential to the fullest extend.

(2) Schools also teach participatory budgeting practically, what constitutes a good parent, self-love and body positivity.
